Teams escalate Romandie tracker dispute to CAS

Teams and riders want CAS to review the UCI's decision to disqualify them over tracking devices.

Five women’s WorldTour teams and eight individual riders have lodged a formal appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over their disqualification from the Tour de Romandie Féminin in August, escalating a dispute with cycling’s governing body.

Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto, EF Education-Oatly, Lidl-Trek, Team Picnic-PostNL, and Visma-Lease a Bike confirmed on Thursday that they are challenging the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)’s decision to expel their squads on the eve of the three-day race. In total, 30 riders were forced to leave the event, including overall contenders Niamh Fisher-Black, Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney, and Isabella Holmgren.
