Remco Evenepoel will leave Soudal Quick-Step at the end of the 2025 season to join Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, the Belgian team confirmed on Tuesday.
In a statement, Soudal Quick-Step said that Evenepoel had informed the team’s management that he did not wish to extend his current contract, which runs through the end of 2026. After discussions with team sponsors and partners, the team’s ownership and management agreed to release him early, describing the decision as being in the best interest of all parties.
The move brings to a close months of speculation linking Evenepoel with Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe. As we reported in early July, Evenepoel had opened talks with the German team during the Tour de France, with multiple sources confirming his desire to exit Quick-Step ahead of the culmination of his contract.
